I recently did a decorated glass box containing pictures of a baby named Viola Evelynn.
This is the first time I have done any engraving that is going to have a purpose, and around 6th time in total I have ever done engraving. It's very hard, but I am getting the hang of it. When I move the engraver, there's a tube containing a ride that is spinning, which makes the tips spin. When I move too quickly the wire will start to sway, easily throwing me off, making it easy to commit an undo-able mistake. There's also the matter of having to be very stead on the hand, and be able to control the engraver so it doesn't "drill a small hole", whichis very apparent and makes it difficult to continue any smooth lines or curves.
